Check Account TP & Account SL

These values will depend on the prop firm you have chosen. For example, if trading with “Prop Firm X” that has a profit target of 8% and a max loss limit of 10% on a 100k account size, then you would need to adjust the Account TP value to 108,000 and the Account SL value to 90,000.

Check EP Type

This will also depend on the drawdown rules for the prop firm you’re trading with. Please refer to the Titan X Settings Explained Document to see which EP Type is the best fit for your prop firm. To help, here’s a guide for the most popular prop firms we use with Titan X and which EP Type fits best:

  • FTMO = MDL Balance
  • TFF = MDL Equity
  • TFT = MDL Highest Value
  • 5%ers = MDL Highest Value
  • FXIFY = MDL Highest Value
  • MFFX = MDL Highest Value

Also, if you need to change the EP Type, make sure to backtest the strategy again using the new EP Type. If you find that the results are worse than what’s displayed on the leaderboard with the new EP Type, you might consider using a different strategy or prop firm.

Check MDL Reset Time

To determine the MDL reset time, we recommend asking your prop firm when the MDL will reset or see if they have a countdown timer to the next daily loss reset. Then, you’ll just note the current time in the market watch window on your MT5 terminal and add the time left on the timer.

For example if there is 2 hours until the next MDL reset, and the market watch time reads 21:00, then the MDL reset time should be 23:00.

To help, here’s a guide for the prop firms on the leaderboard and which MDL reset value to use (however please still follow the process above to double check in case this has changed recently):

  • FTMO: 01:00
  • TFF: 23:00
  • TFT: 00:00
  • 5%ers: 00:00
  • FXIFY: 00:00
  • MFFX: 00:00

If using a previous version that doesn’t have the MDL reset time option, you’ll just want to follow the same process but to make sure that when either the VPS or market watch time (whichever you have selected for your Time Base for Schedule Settings) reaches midnight, it is the same time when the prop firm will reset their max daily loss.

Check Start Time

Most settings have been optimized for trading to start at the weekly market open (Sunday at 5pm EST). You can start trading on other days or times and have success, but the probabilities of passing could be lower. If you insist on starting at a different day/time, then we would suggest backtesting starting at different times to make sure the data shows similar or better results. Click here to see how to configure a different start time.

MA Entry Delay

Please note that versions from 22.24 to 22.33 all had MA Entry Delay set to true by default.

If you are using a later version like 22.35 and using a strategy that was developed on a version from 22.24-22.33, please make sure MA Entry Delay is set to true on 22.35. Otherwise, it will be set to false incorrectly by default.

Check Other Settings

We always recommend double checking your settings, even if you are using a set file. This is because we’ve seen cases where old settings are cached or the set file doesn't load correctly for whatever reason.

You can reference the unique settings for 5%_Interest at the bottom of this page to quickly and easily compare to the settings you have loaded in your inputs tab.

Keep in mind the settings listed below are for a 100k challenge account by default. If you generated a different file from the leaderboard i.e different account size, challenge phase, profit goal etc. some of the input values will change.

Backtest with MTP

Backtest using MTP to verify correct file settings and achieve comparable results to the leaderboard. Variations may occur due to factors like account size, rounding discrepancies, data feed variances (e.g., different brokers), Titan version differences, or other factors.

Turn AutoTrading On

When you’re ready for Titan to begin trading, you’ll want to make sure that AutoTrading is turned on and that the little blue cap in the upper right corner of the chart appears and is blue (not gray). Or if trading on MT4, the little face should appear and should be smiling, not frowning.

Also, Titan may not begin trading immediately, this could be expected depending on the strategy.
